Transrectal US of the Prostate with Biopsy

Our physicians at NEO Urology have extensive experience performing Ultrasonography of the prostate. This procedure allows for accurate evaluation of the prostate gland and directed biopsies. Traditionally, this procedure takes 20 minutes and is performed using a local anesthetic for comfort during the biopsies. When it comes to prostate cancer, early detection is important and the prostate biopsy remains cornerstone for detection.

Cystoscopy

Cystoscopy is a usefully procedure that allows direct visualization of the lower urinary tract which involves placing a scope into the bladder via the urethra. This procedure is commonly performed to evaluate urinary symptoms and diagnose or monitor common urologic conditions. Cystoscopy can usually be completed in less than a minute in the office setting without having to be put to sleep.

Botox Bladder Injections (onabotulinumtoxinA)

Botox is a prescription medicine injected into the bladder muscle for patients with an overactive bladder or urinary incontinence traditionally performed when other measures have failed. This procedure involves using a scope to visualize the bladder to assist with injecting the medicine and normally takes 10 minutes.

Urodynamics

Urodynamics is an office based study that evaluates the lower urinary tract as it relates to storage of urine and the process of voiding (urinating). This testing can assist your Urologist to better understand voiding dysfunction. The procedure can take up to an hour to complete but can be vital to determining the best treatment plan for an individual.
